Community Foundation Tampa Bay will be Presenting:

Purpose-Driven Exits: Turning Business Transitions into Lasting Legacies

Business owners often see their company transition—whether by sale, transfer, or succession—as the culmination of years of work and investment. But with the right planning, that transition can also be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a lasting legacy. Through case studies and technical analysis, attendees will explore ways to structure gifts of closely held business interests, navigate tax and compliance considerations, and help clients align their financial outcomes with lasting philanthropic impact.

Denyve Boyle CAP®, CFRE, MBA is the Associate Vice President of Philanthropy at the Community Foundation Tampa Bay. She is dedicated to helping others turn their passion into purpose—and their generosity into lasting change.

With over two decades of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, she brings insight, energy, and a collaborative spirit to every conversation. She is proud to hold both the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) designation.

Over her tenure as a fundraiser in the Tampa Bay region, Denyve has helped inspire millions of dollars in philanthropic support. Her work reflects a steadfast commitment to building a community that is safer, more inclusive, and more prosperous—a place where all can live, work, play, and pray.

Laurie Valentine, JD currently serves as Senior Counsel, Philanthropic Giving for Community Foundation Tampa Bay (CFTB). She works with donors and their professional advisors on options for accomplishing the donor’s charitable giving goals for both lifetime giving and giving at death. She also provides legal guidance to CFTB leadership and staff to ensure all charitable gift documentation reflects not only donor intentions but can also be effectively managed and implemented by CFTB.

Prior to joining CFTB in July 2022, Laurie was in private law practice in St. Petersburg, Florida (1982-1994) and (2017–2022) practicing in the areas of estate planning, business succession planning, charitable gift planning, and probate and trust administration.  In between her years in private practice, she served 23 years as Trust Counsel and Chief Operating Officer for the Kentucky Baptist Foundation in Louisville, Kentucky (1994-2017).

Laurie received her BA in Speech Pathology from the University of Florida and her JD from the Levin College of Law at University of Florida. She grew up in the Tampa Bay area and currently resides in St. Petersburg.
